It’s Bollywood meets West Side Story. West Bank Story is a 20 minute film that follows a plot and story that is as old as time. Two conflicting ethnic groups brought together by the forbidden love of two young members from each group. Although the storyline is cliché, West Bank Story is able to tell the tale in a unique way by turning it into a comical musical about two fast food businesses, one ran by a Jewish family and one by a Muslim family.
The film does a good job of causing laughter and portraying a comical view of a real life conflict. The songs are catchy and contain some funny lyrics, but at times they are hard to understand or clearly make out. Overall the movie is able to effectively blend humor in with the music and dancing throughout the movie and form into a short and funny musical worth watching.
